Daily Stoic is the online destination for people who are interested in Stoicism, philosophy, and finding the path to your best life. With an expanding audience and a growing number of online properties, Daily Stoic is looking for a Social Media Intern to help us use our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to grow the business and reach more people.

We’re looking for someone who loves social media, someone who has a track record of producing great content that engages fans and draws in new ones. We want someone who has a proven ability to grow audiences and can come up with great new ideas to do it again and again. Someone who lives and breathes social media.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just see this as another job. We’d like to hire someone who is passionate about Stoicism, writing, philosophy, and self-improvement. Someone who knows more about Marcus Aurelius than who played him in Gladiator. Someone whose bookshelves at home are always threatening to teeter over with new acquisitions. Someone who wants to work at a fast-paced, unique company and have a real impact on its operations. 

Your duties will grow as you prove yourself with our company. The main focus of the job will be:

• Creating and scheduling content for 3-4 media properties across Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, with more to come as the company grows. Cumulatively you’ll be directly communicating with millions of people.

Applicant requirements:

• We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, able to make a schedule and adhere to it. 
• Someone with experience creating video or willing to learn basic shooting practices
• Applicants should be great at communication; we want someone who is able to keep our small team aware of what is going on.
• We want you to have initiative. You should be willing and able not only to create the content we submit but to generate new ideas and content of your own. 
• You should be a good writer who doesn’t need a lot of copy editing, and competent at graphic design.
• Last but not least, you should be interested in the topics our sites cover, especially philosophy! We want someone who is able to work with our content on more than a superficial level and can actually engage with it.

Job details:

• Position is mostly remote, but Austin strongly preferred 
• Payment will be monthly
